Home Business Group (HBG) Retail Finance - SFA

The HBG Retail Finance SFA will develop strong working relationships with, and provide insight and guidance to Retail business leaders to help create, cultivate, and grow the HBG businesses. This position offers a tremendous opportunity to build expansive networks across many cross functional teams and disciplines, as well as afford countless opportunities to learn the various business and operating models within the HBG. The HBG Retail SFA will be a subject matter expert on how we set targets and deploy our sales resources to optimize HBG revenue and profitability. This individual must be comfortable communicating and managing up to higher levels in the organization as well as through the various channels of retail partners. The ideal candidate is a self starter with a strong desire to jump in and add value in a quickly evolving environment.

Business & Financial Acumen

- Understands business finance concepts (e.g., revenue and earnings performance; enterprise operating income, revenue and market share; SG&A and revenue growth).
- Understands the external economic landscape and how it relates to the business.
- Understands the effects of decisions on key stakeholders.
- Defines key cost/benefit drivers.
- Sense checks data for accuracy and challenges unreasonable assumptions.
- Analyses consistently provide insights and recommendations.
- Clearly articulates "what the numbers are saying".
- Understands how their work affects the business' financials (oftentimes more historical).
- Examines financial data and applies financial tools to identify trends.
- Understands and appreciates what it takes for a business to be profitable.

Reporting and Analysis

- Prepares, coordinates and manages financial presentations and reports.
- Comprehensively understands financial variances and trends and is able to research financial/operational drivers and their inter-related effects on business results
- Articulates what the information means, summarize for review/presentation, and makes recommendations.

Problem Solving

- Able to break down problems into critical components and influence others to drive actionable solutions.
- Involves and/or keeps business partners informed.
- Navigates roadblocks and cross-functional issues.
- Effectively escalates problems and issues as needed, and contributes to resolution.

Navigating Organization & Financial Systems

- Uses organizational knowledge and a network of contacts to access information and resolve issues.
- Navigates through the organization independently.
- Deep understanding of the functionality of designated financial systems and effects on the financial statements.
- Navigates through various systems to obtain information, creates advanced spreadsheets and performs extensive data mining.
- Solid understanding of other systems and how they interrelate.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree - (preferred emphasis; Business/Finance/Accounting/Economics)

3 or more years' experience in finance, accounting, business or related area

Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)

High level of ethics, integrity, discretion and confidentiality

Proficient in use of Excel

Preferred Qualifications:
MBA
