Plane lands safely after cabin pressure problem

A plane with a report of a pressure problem in the cabin has landed safely at Miami International Airport Thursday morning, an airport official said.

Authorities said the plane was American Airlines Flight 1585 with 143 passengers and six crew members aboard. The 737 was flying from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles, and had circled around the airport to burn fuel before landing.

American Airlines has told NBC News that everyone aboard the plane is safe.
