BUnow ? Bloomsburg ? 12 Days of Video Games: Day 5 ? Minecraft

Day 5 ? Minecraft

A player attacking a creeper

?

Minecraft has been around for years, building it?s fan base from computer-gaming players. The game started off as a computer exclusive that you could only download through the site. Minecraft broadened its horizons finally when the game was made available for Xbox360 players as well.

?Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks. At first, people built structures to protect against nocturnal monsters, but as the game grew players worked together to create wonderful, imaginative things.?

This is a quote from the Minecraft website and the best way to describe the game the perfect way to explain Minecraft, as explained right on the Minecraft website.

Minecraft may not be visually appealing at first seeing how the game is made of 8-bit pixels, but it?s the pixelation that makes the game exactly what gamers have come to love. From a first-person view, you break down blocks of different elements to create more advanced items.

You can break down grass and wood blocks to help build a home for yourself, which I highly suggest you do before nightfall before the creepers get you. No, by creepers I don?t mean weirdo stalkers, I mean green block monsters that will try to attack you. If you die, you start all over.

Spongebob built into the Minecraft world.

In addition, you can build ladders, elevators, and even giant pixelated pictures of familiar culture. The possibilities are endless in this game.

Minecraft is simple enough that anybody can play it. Although the idea is so simple, it?s somehow incredibly addictive. I?ve found myself venturing to new areas for hours without realizing how much time has really passed. The most addictive feature is venturing far out to obtain blocks for something amazing you want to build.

There isn?t much more to say about Minecraft. My 9-year-old cousin is highly addicted to the game and I have friends in college that enjoy the game even more. Even adults come into GameStop often to buy themselves this game to play in their spare time. This game is perfect for all ages and can be purchased for a $20 download on Xbox360, PC, or now on any idevice.
